Alice In Wonderland

Lying
in the shade on a warm summer's day Propped up by a tree, Alice daydreamed away. A rabbit ran past her as late as could be And ran into a hole in that very same tree. Alice followed to see just where he had gone And discovered a Wonderland . . . a place from beyond. There she met Tweedledum and Tweedledee And saw some Gardeners painting roses on trees! There was a caterpillar blowing bubbles from a mushroom chair and a Mad Hatter sipping tea, served by a March Hare. A cheshire Cat with a permanent grin And a croquet playing Queen of Hearts who wanted only to win. But the crazy Queen kept crying "Off with her head!" And filled poor Alice with terrible dread. Frightened and bewildered by the end of her day Alice in Wonderland soon ran away. Back she ran through the land of dreams Back to where everything was as it seemed. Life is real and can offtimes be tough, And it's fun to escape into Wonderland stuff. So sometimes, like Alice, we daydream away, Laying in the shade on a warm summer's day. |
